My father fought the Turks at Megiddo in the first world war. He was in the army of General Edmund Allenby. The only wound he ever received was a spent bullet which hit him in the little toe. Pretty lucky for someone who went straight from the Civil Service Rifles Territorial Regiment off to the front on the 1st day of war. Frank
