This story may have been posted before. The research is interesting on three levels. 1) It showed that the standard explanation that every chemistry student is taught is wrong. Second it showed that amateur scientists can contribute to the advancement of science by professional scientists. Third it provides an example of coulomb explosions which have sometime been mentioned in the context of LENR.
