"Galfenol can convert 70 percent of an applied mechanical energy into magnetic energy"That was the claim 3 years ago coming from US Navy Research. From that point on, the details are emerging but fuzzy. There is a ubiquitous source of low grade mechanical energy everywhere on dry land - which is the result of captured EM waves in Nature, and is called Schumann resonance. It is low frequency with characteristic waves which can be captured, and on this forum, we have mentioned this curiousity many times before as a potential reservoir of free energy but too weak to utilize. Wiki sez: " the Schumann resonances are a set of spectrum peaks in the extremely low frequency (ELF) portion of the Earth's electromagnetic field spectrum.... generated and excited by lightning discharges in the cavity formed by the Earth's surface and the ionosphere." Fast forward to a crude device which is said to provide a robust and perpetual pendulum motion by capturing mechanical waves with galfenol, and converting that energy into EMF for powering the pendulum - "perpetually"... presumably at a resonance level. Well... it could be a hoax but it makes some sense on paper. It would be very easy to fake this kind of thing - such as by using an induction cook-top mound under the table on which the experiment is mounted... and YouTube is infamous for free energy fakes - many of them using hidden cook-tops ... to the extent that fraud is actually presumed when a device first shows up there (as opposed to paper on one of the non-peer review sites). plus... any pendulum with a magnetic bob and without the galfenol will "seem" to possess excess mechanical energy -- for a time period - sometimes for hours at a time, even if they all do eventually stop.
