Good point, Frank Not only is Nansteel affiliated with BLP for many years, he is coauthor of this paper and several others (yup - 0ver 17 years ago).
https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/1024263 ... which describes a device which should have been immediately commercializable as there is a ready market. ... but instead of even trying to develop a market futher or find a similar one - they dropped the R&D into UV light sources, with no explanation - and moved on to other projects with no end-game in sight. The present paper is a real "yawner," compared to earlier one, even brain-dead compared to several in the past with Nansteel's name as co-author. And wasn't Ray one of the many PhDs who left BLP years ago? Think about this. Who - in their right mind - as an insider with founders stock - leaves a company which can make the claims BLP made back in 2000? At least those scientists who left have avoided the past 20 years of disappointment and lost opportunity. It is hard to describe Mills in any kinder way than as another Andrea Rossi but with better academic credentials.
