Such reactions are common with many other vaccines. The last several vaccines I got, for influenza, shingles, hepatitis A and B, left me with very sore arms, unable to work for a day. Hepatitis in particular is painful for several days. Both shingles shots gave me a fever for 24 hours, of 101 deg F.
