This is another related thought experiment: Imagine a small round body with initial temperature T1 at the center of a spherical cavity. The radius of the cavity is continually growing and the interior surface of the cavity remains perfectly reflective. The spherical nature of the reflective cavity means all the radiation emitted by the body is continuously returned to the body. Will the body cool down or remain at the same temperature?
