The first half of this seems to be an attack on Steve Krivit's methods, and by the time I was halfway down the page I was tired of reading how outraged they were. I just skimmed the rest of it.
Do they actually challenge any of the facts reported by Krivit? I did not see any such challenge, but perhaps I overlooked it.
I would think, given the nature of Krivit's story, that a top priority in a "response" would be to address factual matters, like his assertion that Macy's resume has been cooked. But they don't seem to have done that, aside from generally dismissing his claims as "libelous". (Sans facts, calling something "libelous" is just another way of saying "We don't like that".)
I didn't see anything beyond attacks on his journalism, and complaints about how be broke the story after they asked him not to. Well, hey, reporters do that all the time -- there is no such thing as "off the record" when you're talking to a reporter, and in any case Krivit's story is based on decidedly "on the record" things, like announcements in public forums.
On first reading the response, one might be tempted to conclude that Krivit was on-base and the "response" is just a loud noise of objection, without a lot of content.
I took a look at Steve's story, which is online at newenergytimes.com, http://newenergytimes.com/news/2007/NET25.htm#macy and I had a question or two about that. One item stood out: [Steve Krivit:] >> Macy's bio lists other articles she has written: "The Kama Sutra: >> Sensuality's Secret Weapon, "Tantric Sex: Ancient Wisdom to Improve >> Your Sex Life" and "Female Masturbation Techniques." >> >> I read a few of the articles online and found them to be educational, >> intelligent and useful, as I told Macy. Steve found them to be "useful" in what context?
