Vortexians;

Do any of you have any further comments for the professor. In particular the last paragraph.

I sent the following letter to Suslick

Dear Dr. Suslick;

An astrophysicist told me about Chain Reaction. It was based on a true story, he contended. We were discussing cohering the zero point energy, ZPE. The quantum theorist Hal Puthoff of earthtech.org has coauthored a series of articles speculating about the interaction of the ZPE with matter. They were published in Physical Review, these articles, which means that other physicists agree with Hal. Unfortunately, no one has yet managed to power the machine with it's output, and yield just one watt of surplus energy.

I posted the story on Vortex-L, scientific anomalies. One of the Vortexians responded with your URL.

Two Vortexians are behind the website on low energy nuclear reactions, LENR. Given your interest in sonochemistry I assume that you've heard of the Griggs Hydrosonic Pump. It is reported to produce more heat in the water than the electrical energy required to turn it. We assume that the surplus energy is the result of LENR.

I work in venture capital, your inventions look interesting, so let me know if you are interested.

I liked your cartoon page.

Dear Mr. Malloy,

I'd highly recommend a trip to Vegas rather than investment in any of these lunatic fringe theories.

The casinos always win in the long run. Intellectual property on the other hand, makes money some of the time. Studying natural philosophy, (science) is it's own reward.

Chain Reaction was just a movie and a bad one, although we did manage to make money by selling Hollywood old junk equipment as props.

It would seem to me that if that cell worked, it would be possible to reproduce it

Not everything published (even in respectable journals) is correct, and certainly many patents are just plain wrong. Science is self-correcting, however, and eventually things either get proven right, wrong, or just slowly "dissolve" if they're not right.

According to the LENR researchers, the scientific establishment has done it's best to strangle this technology in it's cradle. One can only hope that science will eventually self correct.
Patents either make money or they don't and eventually the technology returns to common use (or disuse if it doesn't work).

Have you ever heard about professor Robert Parks' crusade to get Randall Mills' patent taken away? Dr. Parks didn't like Black Light Power's experimental results. He's proud of his accomplishment too. Parks says that he has yet to read a paper proving LENR, that's because when someone hands him one, he lets it slide through his fingers.

In spite of early claims about the Griggs hydrosonic pump (which certainly does generate cavitation efficiently and will of course heat water as any mechanical process does--remember Joule?), there is no credible evidence for excess heat and there doesn't seem to be a mention of it at the company's website: http://www.hydrodynamics.com/technology_review.htm

The management of Hydrodynamics has had so much trouble with the matter, that they have chosen to delete it.

<http://www.hydrodynamics.com/technology_review.htm>Cavitation (which has been a big part of my career) does marvelous things including lots of chemical reactions and physical processing of liquids and slurries. But creating usable energy out of zero point energy, inertial fusion, or LENR just ain't in the cards, I'm afraid (and trust me, I'd be the first to jump on board if any of that were likely or true--after all I'd have the most to gain of anyone in the scientific community!).

Sterling Allen of www.pesn.com has been talking to a wealthy man who is interested in resolving these questions, so perhaps we can arrange for an experiment.

For example, Rusi Taleyarkhan (OakRidge and then Purdue) is currently and finally under investigation for fraud on his "sonofusion" papers.
