Anyone want to speculate on *why* people post huge involve hoax videos? It's not always money, not always disinformation.
I bet it's just plain dishonesty. Some people are mild psychopaths, and for them, lying and truth aren't much different. Genuine discoveries are hard to do, so if "real" and "fake" are basically the same, why not just make up your own discovery? (In other words, it's a world where lying is not a crime, and the only crime is the embarassment of getting caught.)
