This research is apparently supported by the Noah's Ark Research Foundation:

I can't help noticing their web page spiel begins with spelling
mistake -- a new-agey spiritualist sounding mistake:
"The Noah's Ark Research Foundation was formed Sept 27, 1976 in the
Philippines for the soul purpose of doing research in alternative
energy, new battery technology, water purification and electric vehicles."
I wonder if their mission statement has been spelled wrong for 33 years.
