An author working on a paper just sent me a note that says, in part: ". . . There is one remaining problem. When I opened the equations, Microsoft Equation (v. 3.1) immediately changed all the left angle brackets to right and vice versa. I've changed them back, but worry that I may have messed them up for the rest of the world."
