They expressed no opposition to the field. On the contrary, they have funded Dufour and others. Perhaps they were deceiving me, but in any case I am not aware of any statements or actions they have taken to impede the research, whereas I know of many actions by DoE officials and others to stop the research. It is my impression that most people at most Big Oil and other mainstream energy companies seem unaware of the research. I say this because they contact me from time to time expressing great surprise, asking rather uniformed question, and asking me to recommend papers or send papers I have not uploaded. > No, they will not be negligent. Once it becomes known that the NRC or some other agency is testing the devices to ensure safety, that will tell every sensible person that the effect is real, and cold fusion is a nuclear process. Why else would a NUCLEAR regulatory agency be involved? As I said, if it was thought to be a scam, a consumer protection agency would investigate. If it was thought to be a chemical effect, the DoE or some other conventional energy agency would investigate it and test it. A DoE scientist -- or any sane scientist or engineer -- would take about 2 minutes to conclude it is not a chemical device. > Then you are an enemy of cold fusion. > No comment. - Jed
