I read on some blog three days ago that I can't remember the URL of that
some knowledgeable person said that D2 poisons the reaction -- maybe that's
the secret.

  There is always the natural abundance of D2 in ordinary H2. It is 1 part
in 5,400 according to NIST.


  You would have to go to a lot of trouble to remove it.
