Rossi plans to turn on all 52 reactors at the same time on October 28. I fear this may be suicidal, and so do the experts. I myself do not have enough knowledge of these subjects to judge the safety of the reactor. However, this is supposed to be something like a 20 kW steam generator. I have seen many conventional steam generators of that capacity. They all look more sturdy than this. all the ones I have seen are cylindrical with heavy bolts holding them together. Even water heaters of this capacity are heavier. The other problem is that Rossi does not appear to have good control over output. During the heat after death event, nominal output vary from 3.5 kW to 8 kW. Perhaps these numbers are exaggerated and the actual amount was 2 kW to 4.6 kW. The absolute power is not the issue; the issue is that power more than doubled at times during the run. Power fluctuates widely. This reactor was running with only one out of three cells operating. If you had 156 cells all operating them all fluctuating at the same rate as this one did, the results could easily be catastrophic. - Jed
