                Are the unusual properties of the Bologna Stone similar
because it is a perovskite?

Good bet on that.

                Maybe the secret catalyst of the Rossi reactor is a
perovskite contaminant that absorbs and emits a laser beam in response.  The
thermal background may provide the appropriate radiation for absorption to
