That is true Robin. Off center linear momentum could also be thought of as momentum at right angles to normal momentum in an orthogonal relationship. This is somewhat like cosine and sine waves which do not interact with each other. So far I have not been able to realize a method of converting angular momentum into linear momentum or vice versa.
