just to update any lurkers... With tetron's help (on irc), we determined
this to be because my wxGTK is built on unicode mode. We walked trough
adding the right incantations to the code, so that it works on either
mode. I'll post a patch on bugzilla as soon as I can actually get
ter'angreal to work. (Right now I'm having - seemingly unrelated -
problems with segfaults, and I can't test his fix because sourceforge's
cvs is (surprise surprise) misbehaving on me, so I can't update
CrystalSpace.)
