I'm not an Exim expert, but I think what needs to be done is to add lists.lugod.org to the "local_domains" option. The exim server on franz.mother.com does not realize that lists.lugod.org is another name for the same machine, so it thinks you want it to relay the mail on to some other machine. I think a line like:
local_domains = franz.mother.com:lists.lugod.org in your /etc/exim.conf file should do the trick (after restarting exim). Hope this helps.
