For a great many linux software packages, there are several good places to get a quick description of what they do: http://packages.debian.org/ http://www.rpmfind.net/ http://www.freshmeat.net/ http://www.sourceforge.net/ I generally use `apt-cache search' (which is pretty much equivalent to packages.debian.org on my Debian unstable box) and that tells me what I want to know. Google also helps. -- I usually have a GPG digital signature included as an attachment. See http://www.gnupg.org/ for info about these digital signatures. My key was last signed 10/14/2003. If you use GPG *please* see me about signing the key. ***** My computer can't give you viruses by email. ***
