Punky -

I spent the weekend playing with the latest Voyage MPD on both an Alix
system and the MuBox version (which works quite well I must say). I thought
I would report on my findings since you do not have a Mytek DAC to test
with.

Both the MuBox and the Alix system worked with an Auralic Vega DSD-capable
DAC with no issues. So I started testing both with a Mytek DSD DAC. I can
report that I was able to get the Mytek working with the MuBox. I had to
use Jürgen's silly.sh script to get the MuBox to communicate with the DAC.
And, of course, it only handles DSD64 files at this point, not DSD128. But
those limitations aside, it worked quite will.

On the Alix system with Voyage MPD 0.9.1, however, I was not able to load
the Mytek driver.

dmesg says...

modprobe says...

sudo modprobe -v snd_usb_mytek

FATAL: Module snd_usb_mytek not found.

I followed Jürgen's instructions and copied the proper windows files to
/lib/ firmware/Mytek and installed the .deb files. I can see the driver at
/lib/modules/3.8.13-voyage/misc

As I indicated, I was able to get this working with the MuBox
implementation, but not with 0.9.1 on an Alix board.

Could this possibly be an issue with the incorrect headers in
snd-usb-mytek.ko? Or is there another reason modprobe can't find the driver?

Thoughts?

Thanks,

- Jim
