If you get your webspace from a webspace provider with ftp access
(www.xoom.com for instance), you can find instructions on how to
upload your website to the ftp-directory assigned to you. You could
then use an ftp program such as AMFTP to upload your webpage and its
images. It's just like one of those old directory utilities: the dir
you have your homepage on shows on the left side, the ftp directory
where your homepage should go to on the right side. Select your html
document and all graphics you use in the left side of the window,
click on send, and it should be on the web.
I have also found some webspace providers who don't have such a ftp
site, they require you to use their "WYSIWIG editor" while online, to
create your webspaces. This can become pretty expensive, as you need
to be online to do it, and restricts you in your freedom creating the
page, since most of those editors are very limited in what they offer.
For uploading your webpage however, you do need to use a dedicated ftp
program. AMFTP is well worth a look.
