I know this is fairly lat reply, but I have shapeshifter running with OS7.5.5.
Netscape3 is as high as I can go with this setup. but what I found is that
if netscape does not start the connection on its own, and fails to load the
home page, then it will never recognize when you do actually go online. IE3
will however. What I have done is load blank as a homepage, AND let it dial
its own connections thru freePPP. This way works fairly well. I now have
MRJ1.5.1(Java), Shockwave with Flash, QT3(but I should have stayed with QT2,
I think), and adobe reader 3. I also run MacICQ, but have had trbl with
MacIRC and IRCle.

The mac system is rather addictive in its own way, and I find myself wanting
to "shapeshift" more often. My only problem is I cannot go online with my
full WB also running. I have to boot to shell and launch shapeshifter as
nearly the only thing running.
