Hello anybody,

I've been having trouble with cookies. Specifically; after trying to log on
to the egroups afb site at http://www.egroups.com/group/afb/ they ask to set
a cookie, I agree, then the URL changes ending in "method=no cookies" and
the following message is returned:-
eGroups.com uses "cookies" so we can tell that you have logged in, and so you don't
have to enter your
password the next time you visit.
However, your browser did not return a cookie that we just set.
Perhaps your browser is set to reject 'browser cookies'. In order to register the
browser must be set to accept
cookies.
To control cookies Netscape Navigator, see the dialog box
Edit->Preferences->advanced-> [x] Accept all cookies
To control cookies in Microsoft IE, see the dialog box
view->options->advanced->security [x] always accept cookies.<unquote

I've tried it also with cookies set to accept in the settings. Same result.
I've asked about this on the afb ML, but only one other member appears to
have had a similar problem, and no solution has been suggested. Any ideas
anyone. FYI the version of V in use is 2.96.7(8.7.98) as supplied with the
NetConnect2 package. I have tried using the version from the Amiga Format
CD, and this morning I downloaded and installed the version from the Vapor
Website 2.95, these all produced the same result. Is it something with my
setup? or does the egroups website handle cookies in a non standard way that V cannot
manage?
I've been using a demo version of AWeb to get around the problem in the
meantime.

Any suggestions welcome, also any reports from others experiencing the same
difficulties.
