(My reply's not so much directed at Neil, but more to the people that have
been lamenting the passing of the old bookmarks.mcc)

You know, for a long time, I never had any problems with it either.

It *really* annoyed me, though, that you had to reorganise the bookmark into
whichever branch you'd specified as your bookmark menu for them to appear
on the menu - you couldn't just have the top level of the whole thing as
your bookmark menu.

I was never really very good at organising my bookmarks, and as they didn't
appear on the menu anyway, I didn't really bother very much with the
bookmarks system. I bookmarked pages quite a lot so that I could go back to
them in the future if I wanted to, but just didn't veryr often go back to
them.

Then I decided enough was enough, and made a real effort to tidy them up,
organise them into categories.

And that's when the problems started!

I'd be dragging and dropping the entries, and suddenly, with no warning, my
Amiga would reboot itself in mid-mouse movement!

OK, so I'm sceptical about Contact Manager. I see it as a Netconnect thing,
and I'm really not interested in Netconnect (sorry Chris!)

But you must have noticed that things have been developing into a bit of a
suite recently, and this is one of the unifying elements.

Give it a chance - people are listening and willing to improve the Contact
Manager system to do what you want. That's a much better situation than
before. And the bookmarks really didn't do what I wanted before either, but
there was never any discussion about it....

I'll certainly be sticking my oar in if V becomes a full product and the
Contact Manager boomark handling turns out not to deliver the goods... :-)
