V3p5_update on the items pages of eBay seems to get stuck during
decoding of the images, if the page is opened in a new window using
the "floating" menu. After downloading the page, some image maps at
the top of the window display, but without any images; no text
displays; the transfer animations churns away even after the data
transfer gauge is gone, but the number of images left to decode does
not change even after waiting a minute or two. The mouse cursor
operates, as does the Stop button, but the window remains empty.
Turning off downloading of images and backgrounds, setting to
download image maps only, and the page text comes up as it should.
Loading the pages online with p4, the text comes up almost immediately
after the download is complete; the images come up about 15 seconds
later.
The problem with p5_update seems to be general in nature and not
specific to any one page on eBay. Loading into a new window from
another window link seems to be the common denominator. Loading a new
page from a link into the same window works normally.
Haven't tested to see if this bug is an eBay only problem or is common
to other web sites.
MY SYSTEM --
A3000/25, 2 CHIP 16 FAST, OS 3.1 ROM, Retina Z3, Picasso96, MFCIII.
Executive and ToolManager are my major system background utilities.
Motherboard version is 9.03, I think; and it has it's original
chipset. I haven't upgraded any of them, not even the PROTO SCSI
chip. It's still fairly stock.
