After several attempts I also gave up using the installer. It kept crashing
when trying to install the icon. SO I just did the install manually. I was
lucky to not have an invalidated HD. I haven't had this happen with V or
any other program since I stoppped trying to install a proggy into the same
directory as the archive. I use an install directory to install all
programs to their home directory. Since so many people are having this
problem, I hope that it is fixed in the next release, otherwise many more
people will just not bother with it.
