Probably all those "sometimes-yes-and-sometimes-not"-MUI-problems are
all caused by one single bug, as the symptoms are quite similar.
All those bugs are temporarily disabled MUI features that have to do with 
mouse handling, as you might have noticed.

Maybe MUI's mouse routines conflict a little bit with V3's mouse related
JavaScript event handlers (e.g. onMouseOver or onMouseOut)?
