But adding something likes the IOBlix or other high performance IO helps
a lot more than a CPU upgrade because it moves a large quantity of
processing away from the CPU to a separate device. On my 2000, the
increase in performance was like tripling the clock speed of my 25MHz
'030. Moving the SCSI from the Apollo 2030 card which emulates a SCSI
chip to a 2091 doubled effective throughput again. And the 2091 is not a
fast controller.
