The original Helvetica bitmaps work OK here. Mine probably come from the
OS3.1 floppies - I think there are copies of those on the OS3.5 CD?
Try using CGTriumvirate or CSTriumvirate for all sizes of
Arial/Helvetica. This is yet another name for the same font design. The
CS fonts are the later version, for use with Intellifont, but
CGTriumvirate always works OK.
CGTimes does have a bug or problem. It reliably crashes DPaint, for
instance. So use CSTimes.
For sans-serif fonts smaller than 12 pixels I reckon you can use
XHelvetica throughout. These sizes are really too small to show much
difference between Arial/Helvetica and Verdana.
I think the XHelvetica fonts are on Aminet under Xen, IIRC they are
something to do with Magic WB.
