Kind of a related e-mail to the on-line banking. I have an American Express
401(k) account. When I log in to access the site I get a message that I
have an expired certificate. I actually started getting a message in
November or December that mt certificate would expire 12/31/99. Now I get a
message that it has expired, howver I'm still able to access the site.
Being that I don't go to the site often, I never really looked at my certs.
It looks like it's the VeriSign ones. Some of them are VERY old, and some
are good till 2025(?). A couple did expire on 12/31/99.
Is there a way to get the proper ones? AMEX doesn't send them.
I kind of expected one of the recent updates to include them. But I
guess no one has said anything, there no one knew of a problem.
I can still use the site, but it's a hassel to go through these messages.
Also, with Hotmail. I can get in with the "BE Voayager" Spoofing setting
and turing off JS. If I try any other combination of settings, I get an
error screen saying that I don't have JS enabled. Pretty wierd that if I
have it turned off, on the Voyager setting it doesn't figure that out. If I
have JS on with the Voyager setting it still tells me I don't. This
prevents me from accessing the site. So somewhere in the JS implementation,
V tells Hotmail it doesn't have it on when it does (no matter the spoofing),
and Hotmail recognizes that it isn't on unless V acts like V and no other
spoofing.
Last "bug" I've seen. Ever since I've started using V (v2.91) The New
York Times and Intellicast web sites don't display properly. However IB has
always has. The New York Times (and any other site like it - ESPN I think
too), will have a side bar, and then the news text next to it. Well, it
displays that part under the side bar. Other sites that do this are ESPN,
Cincinnati Enquirer. IB displays all these site "properly"
Intellicast's display problem is similar. In it's center frame, a graphic
of the weather will show up. Then the text forcast appears underneath.
With IB it puts the text forcast next to the graphic.
