Hi folks.
Has anyone in the UK been able to sign up to LineOne's new free internet service?
It is a 2-step process; first you sign up with LineOne to become your ISP. You then
"register" your interest in having free internet. Once they have processed your
request (this took about 5 days), they email you back instructing you to go to a site
for a second registration, this time for your free internet ID.
They have done a deal with a company called Quip! who provide phone services. The
second registration provides Quip with your details, who then give you the freephone
number, a new ID and a new password.
I was able to do the first registration without any problems, and am now a LineOne
customer. However, when I received the confirmation email after a few days, I was
unable to register on the second site for my free internet. The site seems to make use
of Java.
Although I sent several emails to their tech. support, the best they could say was
"switch on your JIT compiler option in your copy of Internet Explorer", even though I
had told them I did not have Java, or IE. They insist it is a Java process, even
though the source seems to indicate a combination of JS and CSS.
Has anyone been able to find a way around this using V?
Thanks!
Nabs.
