This is basically what I'm suggesting - very simple support for 'codepages'
without having to set the fonts manually each time you load a different
language page.

Hmm, well I'm not learning Japanese, Chinese or any Indian language just at
the moment - Russian will do for now ;)

, click on a language link on the left, and at the bottom of the next page
there'll be a pop-up listing pages for the 43 languages the BBC operates in.
