Subject: [voyager] V3.32 crashed A4000 - long post

I am struggling to get the Netconnect octopus thing going. I never have
gotten this stable. I regret if I am repeating a problem that this
informative list has already solved, and I have missed the solution.

I had version 2.xy working fine way back when

I am registered user for version 3.0.

Problems:
1. On running Voyager 3.32 my system either crashes immediately or becomes
unstable after opening a few voyager windows.
2. Voyager is unable to find my V3 key

Probable causes:
1. I installed 3.32 incorrectly
2. I moved my V3 key (don't know where it might have been for me to have
moved it! But it is probable)
3. I don't have the correct libraries
4. I don't have the right configuration

System:
A4000 CyberstormPPC OS 3.5 DOpus running in WorkBench Replacement mode.
Libraries are the latest 68060 libs
Name Size
68060.library 103636
68040.library 748
68040new.library 86296
68040old.library 43428
and work with other applications.

Conditions:
1. I execute a normal boot up; no other programs running (except DOPUS,) not
going on line I open the Netconnect Octopus and click on Voyager. System
crashes
2. I execute a normal boot up; no other programs running (except DOPUS,)
open the Netconnect Octopus; BUT going ON-LINE; I double click Genesis,
establish a connection; click on Voyager;
   a. Voyager starts and goes to the home page at vapor.com
   b. I try another web site and the home page, as you would expect changes,
and the requested page starts to come up; an additional window opens -
probably caused by the new site that I switched to.
   c. voyager appears hangs up - I use the word appears, because I don't
know what is causing the stall
   d. sometimes, but many times not, there may be a message stating words to
the effect loading x image
   e. I am unable to stop the process
   f. the system usually ends up crashing
3. Available memory as indicated in the DOPUS title bar indicates that I
have allot available where allot is greater than 1 meg almost 2M.

Installation procedure:
I used expert mode - only to see what was happening - I changed none of the
default - including the three button sets. I selected copy over existing
rather backup methodology.
Installation could not find key file and asked if I wanted the register
stuff installed and I selected yes. I'd be glad to re-register and support
Oliver's work. I just want to get this thing working first as I never have
gotten 3.0 stable.

So ... pretty basic stuff here. Basic conditions. So what have I missed.

Changes to system since 2.98
1. Netconnect package with 3.0 - bought the CDROM version. The files were
not correct, and was advised by ACTIVE to download some files (can not
remember which. This did solve my earlier problem with 3.0)(What a way to
run a business.)
2. OS3.5
3. CyberstormPPC & Cybergraphics card

Version 3.0 has advanced to 3.32 while I was installing the Phase 5
cyber-cards, getting Netconnect to work, and PFS3 file system to work! Now
that I know I have these basic items stable, I am back to getting Netconnect
to work. Genesis is ok, now Voyager!

Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you
Todd
