Hi,
I've just today found out -- thanks to Petra Struck -- that the
3.2.12 beta version would timeout unintentionally today. Unintentionally,
because the requester was supposed to only be a warning ("This version
is from the dark ages, go look for a new one"). However, when we modified
the V source to also compile with gcc, something got screwed with the
initialization sequence, and the beta timeout would in fact quit V.
Eeek.
As a workaround, I've fetched the last sources before the big layouter
change from CVS, compiled it and uploaded it to the usual mirror sites.
So, if you have been using 3.2.12 and are not happy with the timeout,
there's a 3.2.13 waiting for you.
As for the new layout engine: It's about back for some basic browsing
by now, and if there is enough interest, I can upload an alpha snapshot
of it as well. It's not fit to replace a completely working browser
yet (no frames, form submission not completely working, JS completely
disabled), but it gives a nice impression.
