We all know that the rumour about a new release of Voyager spreads like
a bush fire. I have no doubt about this rumour spreading on mailing lists
and IRC channels shortly after the release announcement. Unless you are
subscribed to this mailing list you have no way of knowing that the release
shouldn't be announced.
Most probably he simply announced its release to help his fellow Amigans,
so they also would be able to enjoy the new release.
