No, that doesn't appear to be the case. i've done some messing about
both with his code and with some I wrote to test my theory.
What I've found is that if TD width > 778 then rather than display the
full with of the background. V will only display the background the
width of the text. Does that make sense?
I haven't changed screen modes but I'd be interested to find out if
the same is true at > 578 on a 600x480 screen.
