Hello,
latest voyager is compiled without optimisation, so this can account
possibly for the slow table layout speed. however.. here are some of my own
tests
file: YM-YM2149.html 402718 bytes. a big table :d
AWeb: 28 seconds (but displays it as it loads and keeps relaying it out as
more data comes in)
IProbe : 4 seconds! (does it in 1 go) :) no amiga browser comes even
close to the speed of iprobe's layout engine. its a real shame this project
seemed to have died. and even worse still that the author recenttly lost
his sources in a hd crash.:(
Voyager 3.2: 30 seconds (and does it in 1 go). also crashed when exiting the
browser.. doh :)
Latest Voyager Beta (no optimisation): 3 mins 10 seconds !.. the file is local
and it lays it out in 1 go. however it does it bit by bit over my net
connection.
. took about 1-2 mins to exit the browser after showing this page!
dont have ibrowse to test. all the test done using bitmap fonts for fairness.
you can find the test file at
http://hangar18.campus.luth.se/exotica/tunes/pages-full/YM-YM2149.html
im not making any criticisms against the latest voyager beta as it is compiled
with no optimisation. would be interesting to see how much difference this
makes
though.
1 more thing. i visited www.08whatever.com with jaavscript on again, with the
latest version. the page appeared partly.. then my computer rebooted!
possibly something still isnt fixed? :)
Regards
buzz
