No. Same speed. It's just habit for most people to go left-right,
top-bottom, since that'st the way we read. I remember working
with a chinese kid on a graphics app, and he always rendered
top to bottom right to left (he argued because he had the screen
width can counted backwards to 0, which made it a "branch if
zero" rather than a "branch if equal to", supposedly faster :)
