Can anyone offer a suggestion as to why this is happening? I'm using AWeb that comes with OS3.9 to check my connect speed at http://www.cnet.com/internetservices/g/bm/msn/0001.html. Using AWeb consistantly shows my connect speed to be about 1.3Mbps, similar to what I get using Netscape or IE on my pc. Both machines are connected to the cable modem through a linksys router. Now, if I use V3.3.95, it consistantly shows my speed to be about 85kbps. My real world experience indicates my speed is usually between 250kbps to 350kbps depending on the traffic between me and the site I'm accessing. However, since this is the same site and three browsers on two different platforms agree, why would V3 be the the odd one out? These tests have been run tens of times over a period of a couple of weeks and at different times of the day. The AWeb and V3 tests are run in quick sequence to reduce potential variance in the traffic along the path.
