When anyone gets so infantile as to demand that certain spel-
lings are so important that he or she will invest his or her
time and our time in this OT bit, I just love it when someone,
such as you sets things straight.
You are so very right. Correct English, as a written language
is more in the construct than in the spelling.
One humorous aside (Yes, I am from the U.S. -- not the humor
part.): A Brit and a Yank were having an argument as to whose
wording was correct. The Yank said, "See that device which
carries people up and down buildings. We call that an 'Eleva-
tor,' and, since an American invented it, that is how it should
be called by everyone." The Brit replied, "Well, that is well
and good, but We invented the language, so it should be called,
a 'Lift.'"
I love discussions about usage as much as the next fellow,
but this is a ML for the Voyager graphical browser for the Amiga.
Let us try to aim our criticisms, whether good or bad, toward
the improvement of this browser.
'nuff said.
Julian.
