You don't, but there is no need to flame people. Not everybody read all
messages (personally I simply haven't got the time to read all the message
posted to the various mailing lists that I subscribe to) and perhaps some
people only started subscribing recently and therefore naturally not
know what has been said a few days before.

An explanation if often not needed. The reportee (does such a word exist)
reports the bug to be friendly and helpful. He might not be wanting a long
explanation. A "thank you for the report" or "has already been reported,
but thanks anyway" or something like that will in most cases suffices. Then
he know that the Vapor team has seen the bug report and he can return to
lurking. But I am quite sure that the reportee does not want to be flamed
just because he tried to help.

However, regular readers of this mailing lists of course know that flaming
is the usual response to a bug report. But new subscribers don't know that.

No need to scare the customers away, Matt.
