Got time for an old-timer (14.4kbps is fast!) question? I just downloaded the demo version of Voyager 3.2 (16.4.2000) and it seems very slow. Alynx loads my class homework page (www.interchange.ubc.ca/morewood) in 9 seconds (just over 20 seconds including time to download and display both pictures). Voyager takes over 5 MINUTES with pictures turned on. I didn't take the time to try it without pictures, but that time seems excessive. Can anyone suggest what the problem might be? Or is my system just not powerful enough for Voyager? (Has anyone heard of any progress on the movement to get Alynx updated?)
I'm using an Amiga 2000 upgraded to a 25MHz 68030 processor using (very little of) 56 MegaBytes of fast RAM (A2630+DKB2632) and 2 MegaBytes of chip RAM (MegaChip) with a 14.4kpbs modem. I own a slightly faster modem, but I've never found a reason to go to the trouble of installing it. My software is Amiga OS 3.1 (Kickstart 40.63 & Workbench 40.42) with Miami 2.1p (registered) and MUI 3.8 (version 19.14) (registered). I just noticed that MUI reports "generic 68000 version". Presumably I should upgrade that. I think that's the relevant hardware and software. Is there anything obviously wrong? _ |/ who is: |)|\/| //\MIGA |\obert |\| |[EMAIL PROTECTED] \\//--\ makes it possible! _____________________________________________________________________ Voyager Mailing List - http://v3.vapor.com/ Voyager FAQ....: http://faq.vapor.com/voyager/ Listserver Help: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?Subject=HELP Unsubscribe....: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?Subject=UNSUBSCRIBE
