I have heard this excuse mentioned many times before, and I think it is utter bullshit. As a student I was very, very far from being rich. However, I still purchased or registered all the software that I used. It was in general just a question of priorities. It is amazing how many beers, CD's, books, clothes or whatever that my friends were able to purchase -- even though they were unable to purchase/register software because they were "poor students". I, however, saved on other stuff so I was able to purchase/register software. For me it was just a question of giving this software a higher priority than, e.g., books. The "I can't afford to register software, because I am a poor student" only works as long as it is possible to obtain pirated copies of the same software. If it was impossible to get a pirated copy of Voyager, Spot, TrapDoor, PageStream, SAS/C or whatever software, then I am pretty sure my friends would have been able to find the money to purchase or register the software that they needed. > But I try as much as I can b/c amiga developers really deserve it. > I'm sure amiga users spend much money but as they aren't many... > That's the biggest problem :) True. We are simply too few today to be the base of a viable shareware market with low prices. > OK, anyway, I'm also afraid to spend money on software that won't > be developed anymore.... Why? Judged by what has been happening with V during 2002, I have to admit that I doubt V will be developed much more. I have never had any problems using V and SSL. Works just fine. Do you use Voyager's own SSL or MiamiSSL? Uffe Holst
