Bit of a long-shot, but it is plausible that autotools didn’t rebuild completely after you added your plugin files I suppose. It’s sometimes worth cleaning the tree to force it. “make wipe” or to be doubly sure “git clean -fxd” (making sure you have your local files added to git etc)
