I take it as a query on how easy it is for VPP
to support super jumbo frames [0].

> most networks use approximately 9000

In theory, VPP could allow higher values to be set on demand,
while making sure the default MTU values remain small enough.

Even if networking hardware lacks the support,
users can see benefits in memif and similar "virtual" devices.

The real question is whether VPP will work when recompiled
with the higher limit, or whether some pieces of VPP code will blow up
(because they assume frame size is never much larger than ~9000 bytes).

Hello,
I think you got very strange requirement, jumbo frame can be up to 16000 but
most networks use approximatly 9000.
VPP has standart burned in value.

Тема: [vpp-dev] Increase MTU from ethernet packets

Hello, VPP support maximum mtu 9216 bytes. Else increase mtu from 65535
bytes with ETHERNET_MAX_PACKET_BYTES environment and recompile VPP?
