Hi All,

What is the impact of memif and tap interfaces on the memory and CPU?
We are using VPP as a data plane and having 8 memif & 8 tap interfaces.

*The tap interface config is as follows:*

*Number of RX Virtqueue 1Number of TX Virtqueue 2*

*Virtqueue (RX) 0 qsz 256, last_used_idx 13, desc_next 0, desc_in_use
243 avail.flags 0x1 avail.idx 256 used.flags 0x1 used.idx 13 kickfd
119, callfd 118 Virtqueue (TX) 1 qsz 256, last_used_idx 0, desc_next
0, desc_in_use 0 avail.flags 0x1 avail.idx 0 used.flags 0x0 used.idx 0
    kickfd 121, callfd 120*

*The memif interface config is as follows:*

*interface memif0-0 remote-name "slave_DU" remote-interface
"slave_interface_DU" socket-id 0 id 0 mode ethernet flags admin-up
connected listener-fd 140 conn-fd 59 num-s2m-rings 1 num-m2s-rings 1
buffer-size 0 num-regions 2 region 0 size 33024 fd 189 region 1 size
4194304 fd 190 master-to-slave ring 0: region 0 offset 16512
ring-size 1024 int-fd 192 head 1030 tail 6 flags 0x0000 interrupts 6
last_head 0 last_tail 5 slave-to-master ring 0: region 0 offset 0
ring-size 1024 int-fd 191 head 7 tail 7 flags 0x0001 interrupts 0
last_head 7 last_tail 0has context menuComposeParagraph*

If there is a formula or document that helps in calculating the memory and
CPU usage for memif & tap, please let us know.
