Your mileage may vary and you'll want to benchmark your workload, but in general: - 1G hugepages should give you the absolute best performance, but at the expense of flexibility / memory usage - 2MB should give you almost the same performance but is usually easier to manage / share memory with other processes So, 2MB is usually a solid default, and 1G is an optimization. best ben
