You could probably turn off plaintext passwords in vpopmail. However....

Vqadmin is designed to be an system administrator's/helpdesk tool. That's
why the passwords are shown. Perhaps you need to use qmailadmin? Qmailadmin
doesn't show passwords. Qmailadmin is designed to be a _Customer_
administration
tool.
