Except a vserver-guest is much more easy to make a copy of, diddle with updates, configs and whatever - and so have a copy available that can be started within a few seconds when you misconfigure something.

And you can move it much more easily to another physical machine.

I wouldn't try to combine vmware in a vserver guest, though. Much too fiddly.
