hopefully you get hunks with any patch ...
FYI, patches consist of file sections, containing
hunks, each hunk addresses one section/change in
a file (in unified diffs, starting with @@) ...

what you mean is called 'reject' or rejected hunk
which means patch wasn't able to find the correct
context for this cahnge ...
